Being a Dr by profession,  she assured us she would not be associated to harmful  products and this skin care range is made from natural ingredients.  We saw slide shows of mind blowing transformations and improvements from  people who have used the products.

It was also an event to network with other colleagues from the beauty industry.

We had refreshments and this charming lady with an amazing voice serenaded us with some classic songs.

I had a nice evening except for the fact that we had to stand all through. (who says we can’t network sitting down sef… Lol)

It was fun meeting the Sleek studio team and been treated to such a classy evening. Thank you for the love and for this awesome goodie bag.

The Christmas Beauty Mingle 2014

The Christmas Beauty Mingle 2014 held on the 21st of December, 2014.

It was well attended and so much fun. I met a lot of makeup artists and everyone got a chance to talk about themselves.

We shared experiences we had gained, and recounted our achievements through out the year.

‘Transforming The Nigerian Creative Economy – The Role Of Policy Advocacy’ led by Ifeayin Enukorah.

‘Transforming The Nigerian Creative Economy – The Role Of Policy Advocacy’ led by Ifeayin Enukorah.

My week started on a lovely note as I was invited by the British Council to a One-day Training and Seminar themed  Transforming The Nigerian Creative Economy – The Role Of Policy Advocacy’ led by Ifeayin Enukorah.

The event was on the 15th of December, 2014 at Berkeley Hotel in Ikeja.

The aim of the Policy Advocacy Seminar was to enlighten, encourage and empower youths by providing information and leadership training that will promote and enhance our ability to speak up for ourselves, our communities and to engage with, and influence policy makers at a strategic level.

In order for young people to be prepared to work in partnership with policy makers, they need to develop and/or enhance their leadership and influencing skills. Once they have been equipped with these skills they can confidently start conversations, facilitate meetings, and make effective presentations. To fully participate with policy makers, youths also need to be informed about policy makers’ perspective of the problem, challenge or issue being discussed and strategies for dealing with the issues.

At the training programme, the following topics were covered:
1. Leadership and Influencing Skills
2. Negotiation Skills
3. Building Systems to Drive Policy Advocacy

The training session was followed by a panel discussion which involved a panel of people from different sectors in the creative industry. They shared ideas, experiences and recommendations on the growth strategy for the Nigerian Creative Economy, followed by a Question & Answer session

It was so much fun and we were split into groups and given the opportunity to lobby for policy change that would impact positively in our different creative sectors.

Very informative session it was, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this event, well put together by Gentalk Creatives for British Council and sponsored by First Bank Nigeria.

I Didn’t go with my camera though, so tried to take a few pictures for you with my my phone.

There was such a huge variety of beauty products to choose from, and it sure felt like makeup heaven.

If you didn’t attend, you definitely missed out on the best shopping event of the year.
