With love from Ile-Ife

With love from Ile-Ife

Last weekend was so much fun, so I decided to share this post ‘with love from Ile-Ife’.

It was the coronation of Kabiyesi Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwisi aka Ojaja (II), as the Ooni of Ife. Yours truly was invited by one my very special clients and sisters, Mrs George of Lolar’s Fabrics to glam up the lovely friends of the queen, Olubukola Ogunwusi. I never realized how seriously people took these events until I saw the week long celebrations that ended on Monday the 7th OF December, 2015.

In all, I had a fun weekend and I’m so happy I made the trip, regardless of the short notice. See pictures I managed to take despite the rush and the flock of ladies who wanted to get their makeup done.

A message from Serena Williams

A message from Serena Williams

I saw this on Facebook today, and decided to share. It’s an encouraging message from Serena Williams to her fans:

“20 years ago I played my first professional Tennis match. I was 14. I was scared. I was not prepared for the stage. But determined I went on. Butterflies consumed my stomach leaving no space for me to eat to prepare for my match. Less than an hour later I left the court devastated in defeat. A 6-1, 6-1 loss to than Annie Miller. Basically she crushed me. Not only did I look like a novice but I looked like I did not belong anywhere on the court. However born with an innate insatiable desire to never quit I knew I would return. I would come back. I could not predict that I would win 21 Grand Slam titles and be number one in the world even 20 years later, but I did predict I would never give up. And I did not. (Oh and by the way I am still going). Now I tell you this: never give up on your dreams. It may not happen when you want it to but one day your knight in shining armor (your dream) will come true if you keep going. I leave you with this. Be positive. Be kind. And above all be humble.”  Xxx S

Self Love

Self Love

I always try on roughly ten outfits before deciding which one it will be. Sometimes I don’t like the color, other times it’s too tight cos I’ve gained a lot of weight. I just can’t deal, when an outfit exposes my big tummy. Then I’d need a kimono or a jacket, better yet, I just change into something else.

Everyone around especially Hubby keeps telling me, ‘wear this’, it’s nice but I’m not buying that. It can’t be nice, it has to be perfect! After being exhausted from the charade, I finally settle for something, anything!

We are our own biggest critiques and we need to chill. Today I’ve said to myself, “easy on yourself Cheeks”. Focus on the positives, work on the things you can change, and live with things you can’t change.

So yes, I want to be slim like Beyonce and curvy like Kim Kardashian but it hasn’t happened. I want to be fit as a buff and post pictures of my perfect figure but I’m not there yet.

For now, this is me, I am fat but fabulous. Sometimes my hair is a mess, but my head is always right where it should be. I might be too lazy to wear a waist clincher but I’m ever ready to get my grind on. I have so much to be thankful for, and we all do. There is more to life, than showing the world, the perfect picture.

Love God, love yourself and love your neighbor. Have a splendid week!

Mo’s Party Makeup

Mo’s Party Makeup

Wow, can’t believe I forgot to post pictures of Mo’s Party makeup, a while back. She had booked for a previous occasion, but stuff came up so we had to had to cancel. However on this particular Saturday, Mo was ready for her party makeup, and she knew exactly how she wanted to look. I mean she wanted every little detail in place,  including the shade of pink for lipstick.

I wasn’t surprised when she changed into this stunning black outfit because with an eye for detail like Mo’s, you can’t possibly go wrong.

I loved the the entire look and so did pretty Madam Mo.

Seun’s Transformation Makeup

Seun’s Transformation Makeup

Yippe I shot a video of Seun’s transformation makeup. These days I prefer the before and after videos instead of pictures and Seun happens to be my first muse. She is a simple girl so I played around safe colors to achieve this look.

What I love the most about Seun’s transformation makeup is the way the accessories lit up her look. I got the neckpiece from the Christie Brown store in Ghana, who by the way makes really lovely pieces. I also love the turban and thanks to it, no bad hair day can stand in the way of my shoots.

Seun’s Transformation Makeup Video contains product details and all the steps taken to achieve this look. PLEASE WATCH O, subscribe, share, comment and suggest.

Seun was really happy with her look and she never thought she could look like this, Makeup can enhance your look in many ways. Be adventurous; it’s just makeup and if you don’t like it, you can always wipe it off. So get the makeup purses out and have fun with it, or better still, call me and I’d always be there (Wink). Happy Weekend! Enjoy the pictures.
